MY FIRST THOUGHT, "I CAN'T MAKE JEWELRY!!!!!"

My name is Karen, and I am an RN.  One day while I was at work, I had one of my patients show me some of the jewelry she made.  It was really pretty and I liked her style.  This lady had a stroke at the very young age of 40.  She had learned how to make jewelry to keep her hands and mind active to help with her stroke.  After she  sold me several pieces.  She told me I could make my own jewelry.  I started laughing, because I did not see myself making anything so pretty.  When the lady was discharged.  She gave me her phone number and we became good friends.  I went to her house one day and she gave me a piece of wire and said, "Here you make something."  I didn't know where to start, so I just started putting beads on the wire.  I had decided to make something that would hold my glasses when I did not need to wear them.  I was really surprised when I was finished, because I hadn't done to bad of a job.  The rest is history and I have been making jewelry for the last 5 years.  I really enjoy making jewelry, especially when they turn out really pretty.  It helps me to relax on my days off.
